King of the Road is a totally awesome idea: 20 skaters, 15 days on the road, traveling 15,000 miles and picking up 4 mystery guests as they embark on a killer sk8 scavenger hunt. Various tricks and idiotic stunts earn points as they travel to several predetermined cities. But there's one problem...

King of the Road is a great idea that is poorly executed as far as filming and narrative is concerned. We've all see these reality shows, like Amazing Race, in which the contestants get envelopes detailing their next challenge, trip or whatever. KOTR is similar, but they gloss over the goals for each team and the footage they show seems like a montage rathrer than letting us see them assault their challenges. Half the time it seems like a cool sk8 video and the rest of the time I'm wondering what's going on plot-wise.
OK, I'm done bitching... I think.

The Four Teams

The four teams were: és, DLX, Volcom and Tumyeto. Each team had to locate a mystery guest to join their crew.

I love the format and the idea, it's just the execution that's lacking.

Bonus Stuff

Road Rage Mix and a slideshow.
