Why review a promo disc? Because we have it, it was free and we dig the East Coast. Oh yeah, its looking to be a killer release from 5Boro.
Aren't you tired of Pacific ocean vistas, palm trees and constant sunlight? Us too. The raw beauty of the So Cal scene can only be tolerated for so long before one needs towering skyscrapers, looming shadows and filth. Welcome to New York City!
You can't say you're an experienced street skater until you kick-flip over a homeless guy, wall-ride a construction fence and wipe out in a puddle of piss (not your own). From seedy parks to dingy streets, NYC sports a type of terrain with its own unique style.
At a whopping 7 minutes, there's not a whole lot to review, but this looks like a killer release. Essentially, this promo disc shows a few segments as they roll the intro credits, introducing the team. No DVD is complete without bonus footage, so NY Minute aims to please on that front too.
Dan Pensyl has a 2 minute montage and Robert Lim stretches the boundaries with 3½ minutes. All footage features the hideously maintained streets of NYC. Keep an eye out for this release.
But don't confuse it with the movie of the same title featuring Ashley & Mary-Kate Olsen (our favorite twins who refuse to go away. Those two twits suffer the delusion that it's acceptable to put out a really bad movie and expect it to do well because they used to be cute little kids and people liked them back then. Ultimately, they will realize they wasted their youth making drivel that won't hold up to the test of time and then wonder why they didn't just make nudie calendars like all the other talentless twins. And what the Hell is Jack Ozbourne doing in the Olsen twits movie? Can't Ozzy - or Sharon - dredge up something better for him?
If you're still confused about the difference between 5Boro's flick and the Olsen twits, here's a plot summary of the girl's flick: One day in New York City, as Jane Ryan (Ashley Olsen) tries out for an overseas college program and her sister Roxy (Mary-Kate Olsen) schemes to meet her favorite punk rockers, a series of mishaps throws their day into chaos. In order for them both to accomplish their goals, the normally adversarial sisters decide to unite against the forces around them... and make home porno movies to sell on ebay. Please die.
Anyway...
Look for the full length 5Boro flick at your local SK8 shop.
