Skateboard history fascinates me. I've been at this for a while, yet I still find cool things from skateboarding's past. Re-issue DVDs have played a big role in documenting skate history by exposing today's skaters to films they may have missed when first issued. Better still are the ones like Stereo's Boxset that are released on DVD for the first time since originally being issued on VHS.

I was in a bookstore flipping through a copy of Skate Legends when I came across Jason Lee. Suddenly it hit me that this was in fact the guy from all those Kevin Smith films. Holy crap! Who didn't love "Brodie" from Mall Rats?!? I hadn't previously made the connection between the pro skater and actor, but I think it's pretty cool to go from pro skater to Hollywood actor and then re-start Stereo.

In 2008, Stereo released 1994's A Visual Sound and 1996's Tincan Folklore for the first time on DVD as a 2-disc boxset.
