Directions to the Stamford Skate Park at Scalzi Park
FROM NEW YORK:
- Merritt Parkway NORTH (RT.15): Take Exit 34 North
- At traffic light at end of ramp, take right onto Long Ridge Road (Route 104)
- Follow Long Ridge to central Stamford
- Pass Lord and Taylors on left to traffic light
- Turn right onto Route 137 - Washington Boulevard
- Go to third traffic light and take right onto Bridge Street
- Approximately 100 yards on Bridge Street, turn left into Scalzi Park
- I-95 NORTH: Take Exit 7
- At the end of the ramp cross Greenwich Avenue and proceed one block to Washington
- Turn left onto Washington Boulevard and head north
- Proceed straight through 9 traffic lights until you get to Bridge Street
- Take a left onto Bridge Street
- Approximately 100 yards on Bridge Street, turn left into Scalzi Park
FROM NEW HAVEN:
- Merritt Parkway SOUTH (RT.15): Take Exit 34 South
- At traffic light at end of ramp, take left onto Long Ridge Road (Route 104)
- Follow Long Ridge to central Stamford
- Pass Lord and Taylors on left to traffic light
- Turn right onto Route 137 - Washington Boulevard
- Go to third traffic light and take right onto Bridge Street
- Approximately 100 yards on Bridge Street, turn left into Scalzi Park
- I-95 SOUTH: Take Exit 7 - Atlantic Street for Route 137 North
- At the end of the ramp go the 4th light at Washington Boulevard
- Turn right onto Washington Boulevard
- Proceed straight through 9 traffic lights until you get to Bridge Street
- Take a left onto Bridge Street
- Approximately 100 yards on Bridge Street, turn left into Scalzi Park.
Built by Grindline, The Skatepark at Scalzi Park opened in July 2007 and opperates daily from 8 a.m. until one half hour before sunset.

At this stage most of the dirt had been removed and the begining outline of the bowls could be seen... sort of. I wanted to climb up the truss of the digger to get a better arial shot, but the guys were working on-site and were really cool about letting me take a look, so I didn't want to push my luck... or fall on my ass in a large hole.

On this visit, the rebar was in place as well as tracks for pouring the concrete. Portions of the metal coping was welded into place.
