Originally released in 1993, Goldfish is part of Girl's Box Set 1993-99 which consists of 4 videos.

Goldfish is probably the second reason you'll want to snap up the Girl box Set - Mouse is the first.

Goldfish opens with a car chasing a skater down a series of hills. The skater sees a goldfish bowl (with fish) in the street and rescues it. This opener is another Girl classic. These guys really put a lot of thought into making a great product.

I had a few goldfish in my youth - mostly the kind yo win at a carnival and come with a miniature fishbowl and 3 ounces of water. What a great life for a fish... and all because I tossed a ping pong ball into the fish's bowl. Lucky little bastard - now he had a home. I guess that's better than what some topless dancers do with ping pong balls... I think there's another fish-joke in There somewhere.

Down the road I graduated to full-blown fish in a larger tank. Unfortunately, I filled it to high and they all flopped out overnight. Fish really aren't my thing unless it's Salmon on the grill. As a kid I had much more of an affinity for turtles - not those mutant ninja ones - they seemed like really cool pets and their bowl had a stylin' plastic palm tree in the center. Those were the days...

Ok, screw it! You already know the skating is awesome, so why dwell on it (aside from the fact that this is a sk8 review)? The skits in goldfish are top-notch. Double Yellow shows a skater following a double yellow line down a road. Suddenly it veers off and the lines start to follow skate lines over obstacles, wall-rides and stuff. This is clever stuff. I wish I were smarter.

sooden pogo stick

Lance Mountain has a cameo as a pro pogo stick athlete (pogo sticker?). His sport is known as "sticking". The skit parallels pro skaters and all the crap they go through. Now you can witness it from a pogo perspective. Swell!

Rick Howard takes his sk8 passion down into the sewers and tunnels for a subterranean session. The end. Go buy Goldfish (the flick, not the flushable pet).
