Real Skateboards has this habit of releasing either free or insanely cheap DVDs. Life and Times is one such DVD. For $5 I raced home with a very cool flick loaded with bonus material. Shot as part of Real's upcoming full-length release, these out takes make for an awesome sk8 flick all in themselves.
With a slamming soundtrack and great skating, you can't go wrong. They start out in San Francisco sessioning a funbox in their warehouse. From there they take to the road through Alameda, CA, Berkley Park in Berkley, CA, the Junk Jam in SanFran and Jasin's ramp in Oakland.

Egomaniac, Gene Simmons made a ton of money from his involvement in Kiss. He understands merchandising with fearsome clarity. You can buy everything from KIss condoms to a Kiss casket (sort of from the beginning to the end, eh?) and a myriad of t-shirts.
However his business acumen displayed in his reality show, Family Jewels, leaves much to be desired. He's maniacal about being "in business" and is constantly seeking out new opportunities. The pitches they showed involved Simmons taking someone's existing idea or premise and saying, "Add a Kiss theme". Huh? Wtf?
Did you catch his self-published magazine, Tongue? It lasted ten minutes and he actually interviewed himself in one issue.
The Junk Jam got rained out, but that didn't stop the crew from trying the kicker that had been put in place. In the pouring rain one of ‘em made the gap. Too cool.
We also get a glimpse into how they plan their tours. Balloons were tacked to a world map and they shot at them with BB guns, threw darts and even resorted to throwing knives in order to choose their destinations. Cheating helped one of the squads swap Mongolia for Hawaii. Wise choice (cheat).
At 25 minutes of the feature, you feel like you got a good deal, but check out all the bonus footy and You'll be stoked on this whole DVD.
