I hate to start off a review with a rant. OK, before I do.... Independent's Northwest 2007 is fun, exhilirating and FREE. Be sure to download a copy - it rocks!
By and large, internet video sucks. Not the content (well, a lot of it) but rather the format. YouTube is a nifty video server if you have no other way of getting video on your web site, but for sheer entertainment value... screw it. In the age of wide-screen HD TVs why watch a crappy little video window on your computer. OK, if you have a big fat-ass monitor on your ‘puter, fine. I'd rather watch on a big damn TV. Besides most of the companies that post video are tossing up low-res crap that can't be viewed at a decent size.
Several skate companies - Independent Truck Company among them - are providing high-quality video on their web sites for download. Such is the case for the download of Independent's Northwest 2007. In fact, you can download the individual parts or the whole damn thing in one shot - all 1,700 megabytes as an iso file. They even provide templates for making labels and cover-art inserts.
At 25 minutes plus a bonus slide show, Northwest 2007 is a cool flick shot in skate parks across the Pacific Northwest. This vid chronicles the Indy tour from June 4 through June 20. With a crop of the best riders around, you can't go too far wrong with a vid like this - especially price-wise. Go download a copy and burn it to DVD.

I'm sure a lot of folks will be happy watching it in a puny window on the Independent Truck site or on their own computer. Separate from the lazy masses and watch it on a damn TV. A skate vid this good deserves better than a stupid little video window. Use that nice HD TV for something besides a video arcade or home porno theater.
