Originally released on VHS in 1996, Skate and Destroy is part of Thrasher Magazine's Skate Video Collection which consists of their first 18 videos.
The call of "Skate and Destroy" has been the skaters battle-cry for a long time. A hell of a long time. Thrasher's appropriately titled flick delves into this annihilating theory of skateboarding with a 30 minute look at wrecking stuff via skateboard.
We're treated to a variety of run-ins with cops, security and property owners, but the core of this flick - as always - is endless montages of amazing skating. Diversity of terrain is also a Thrasher hallmark. You get a good mix of street, pools and ramps & parks.
Music for this video venture came from a number of unlikely sources. One piece came from a street performer. Cool - no royalty payments.
With an insane number of skaters, this disc flys by and you'll want to watch it again after your bud's sister denies your ill-intending advances (try her Mom - Mom's are often way freaky).
